Top seed Novak Djokovic recorded a 6-2, 7-6 (4) win over lucky loser Mats Moraing on Tuesday to progress into the last eight at the Belgrade Open.

In the match that lasted one hour and 40 minutes, Novak stormed to a one-set lead, following a double break.

A tricky second set was a see-saw affair. Novak was twice up a break, but the German fought back to force a tie-breaker. Djokovic won it 7-4.

Next up for the world no.1, who is pursuing his second title of the season, is Federico Coria (ARG, Alt), currently ranked no.96 in the ATP Rankings.

The match is scheduled on Thursday. It will be their first career encounter.
