Singles draw has been made for the 2023 Rolex Paris Masters on Friday.
Seven weeks after triumphing in the US Open final, Novak Djokovic returns to action in Bercy.
The final ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the season is taking place in Paris from October 30 to November 5. Eight seeds (1-8) get BYE in the first round.
Record six-time champion Novak is no.1 seed and will open his quest for a seventh title in the second round against Tomas Martin Etcheverry (ARG, ATP no.31).
Novak’s possible rivals in the later stages of the competition are:
3rd round: Ben Shelton (USA, 15), Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (ESP)
Quarter-finals: Holger Rune (DEN, 6), Taylor Fritz (USA, 9), Stan Wawrinka (SUI)
Semi-finals: Jannik Sinner (ITA, 4), Andrey Rublev (RUS, 5), Richard Gasquet (FRA)
Finals: Carlos Alcaraz (ESP, 2), Daniil Medvedev (RUS, 3), Stefanos Tsitsipas (GRE, 7), Alexander Zverev (GER, 10)
It will be Novak’s 17th appearance at the Paris Masters. The 36-year-old Serbian star won the event in 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2019 and 2021.
Last year he finished runner-up to Holger Rune (6-3, 3-6, 5-7).
Djokovic teamed with compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic for Paris doubles victory. They reached the second round following a 6-4, 6-2 win over Gonzalo Escobar and Aleksandr Nedovyesov in 68 minutes.
