Top seed and defending champion Novak Djokovic will open his campaign in the second round on Tuesday against world no.174 Nicolas Almagro of Spain (3-0 H2H).

Novak conquered Rome in 2008, 2011 and 2014. Last year he beat Radek Stepanek, Philipp Kohlschreiber, David Ferrer, Milos Raonic and Rafael Nadal, respectively.
The last of three ATP World Tour Masters 1000 events contested on clay takes place in the capital of Italy from May 10-17.
