Nole suffered third-round elimination from the Italian Open.

Alejandro Tabilo claimed the biggest win of his career, defeating world no.1 Novak Djokovic 6-2, 6-3 in 67 minutes at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia on Sunday.

The Chilean 29th seed delivered a resilient display to upset the top-seeded Serb. He made two breaks in each set to seal the triumph.

“The way I felt on the court today was just completely like a different player entered into my shoes,” said Novak. “Just no rhythm, no tempo, no balance whatsoever on any shot. It’s a bit concerning.”

Match statistics: aces (8-4), double faults (5-0), winners (15-22), unforced errors (22-15), total points won (40-54).

Next stop for Novak is Geneva. The Belgrade native will compete at the Gonet Geneva Open next week after receiving a wild card.

It will be the final preparation for the French Open to be held from May 26 to June 9.
