Rune downs Novak in Rome quarter-finals
In rainy Rome Wednesday, Holger Rune overcame defending champion in a three set quarter-final action at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia. The 20-year-old seventh seed from Denmark prevailed 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 to seal his second ATP Masters 1000 win over Novak and second career victory against the world no.1 in their three meetings.

The 19-year-old Dane, who was triumphant in Stockholm and Munich this year, put in a remarkable and brave performance, to defeat Novak 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 and lift his maiden ATP Masters 1000 trophy.
