Main singles draw for the 2024 edition of the US Open has been made on Thursday.

No.2 seed Novak Djokovic will open campaign in his 18th US Open appearance against world no.138 Radu Albot (MDA, Q).

The defending champion might face either Laslo Djere (SRB) or Jan-Lennard Struff (GER) in the second round.

Novak’s possible rivals in the later stages of the tournament are:

3rd round: Alexei Popyrin (AUS, 28)
4th round: Ben Shelton (USA, 13), Frances Tiafoe (USA, 20)
Quarter-finals: Andrey Rublev (RUS, 6), Grigor Dimitrov (BUL, 9)
Semi-finals: Alexander Zverev (GER, 4), Casper Ruud (NOR, 8), Taylor Fritz (USA, 12)

Jannik Sinner (ITA, 1), Carlos Alcaraz (ESP, 3), Daniil Medvedev (RUS, 5), Stefanos Tsitsipas (GRE, 11) … are in the top half of the draw, and Nole can’t meet them before the final.

The Serbian tennis star won 88 matches out of 101 he played at the US Open.

Novak will be looking for his 25th Grand Slam title in New York, where he lifted the trophy in 2011, 2015, 2018 and 2023.

Last year, Djokovic beat Daniil Medvedev 6-3, 7-6 (5), 6-3 in the final.

Competitions at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows begin on August 26, and will last until September 8.
