The final of the Adria Tour in Zadar has been cancelled after Grigor Dimitrov tested positive for coronavirus.

The Bulgarian revealed the news on Instagram on Sunday. He returned home to Monaco after feeling unwell during his Saturday match against Borna Coric.

“I want to reach out and let my fans and friends know that I tested positive back in Monaco for Covid-19,” Dimitrov wrote on Instagram. “I want to make sure anyone who has been in contact with me during these past days gets tested and takes the necessary precautions. I am so sorry for any harm I might have caused. I am back home now and recovering. Thanks for your support and please stay safe and healthy.”

The final was due to be played between world no.1 and tournament organiser Novak Djokovic and Andrey Rublev.

“We have just been informed that Grigor Dimitrov has tested positive for coronavirus and we will have to call off the final of the tournament in Zadar,” the event director Goran Ivanisevic said in a statement on court.

A statement from the Adria Tour said: “As a precaution and to protect the health of all participants and visitors, the organisers of Adria Team have decided to cancel the grand finale of the tennis spectacle planned for tonight.”
