Novak starts title defence with a straight sets win!
Defending champion Novak Djokovic is through to the second round of Australian Open with a straight-sets win over Italian qualifier Andrea Stoppini (world no. 220), 6:2, 6:3, 7:5, in 1 hour and 54 minutes on Rod Laver Arena on Monday.
Novak could become no.2 or remain no.3 player in the world on Monday!
Rafael Nadal failed in attempt to defend the title at the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, which gives Novak chance to secure position no.2 in the ATP Rankings already tomorrow.
Sergio Tacchini presented new Novak’s outfit!
As you know, Novak will wear the equipment of the Italian sportswear brand Sergio Tacchini from the beginning of the season. The Serbian player has recently signed a 10-year sponsorship deal with Tacchini, and the new ‘look’ will be presented already at the beginning of the 2010 AAMI Classic at Kooyong, and at the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, Australian Open.

The draw has been made for Sony Ericsson Open, the second ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament in 2009. The tournament in Miami which is often called the fifth Grand Slam, starts on Wednesday March 25th, and will be played for $4,500,000 prize money.
