The Serbian star dismissed Hubert Hurkacz of Poland 6-4, 6-2, 6-2 in one hour and 36 minutes to reach the second round in Paris. Novak will next face Swiss lucky loser Henri Laaksonen (ATP #104)
Novak won his first French Open title in 2016 and completed career Grand Slam beating Andy Murray in the final (3-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-4).
Novak beat Andy Murray 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-4 to complete the career Grand Slam, and became just the eighth man to accomplish the feat.
The second Grand Slam of the season, the Roland Garros, is taking place in Paris, from May 22 to June 5, 2016.
