Second seed Novak Djokovic began his quest for a record fourth Rolex Shanghai Masters championship when he defeated Jeremy Chardy 6-3, 7-5 on Tuesday.

Novak, who won the event on three occasions (2012, 2013, 2015), is second seed. He’ll open quest for 32nd Masters title in the second round against world no. 42 Jeremy Chardy (FRA, H2H 11-0).
