Novak completed efficient 6-4, 6-2, 6-2 victory over unseeded Karen Khachanov to set up a last eight meeting with 24th seed Kei Nishikori. The match lasted one hour and 45 minutes.

Novak suffered a 7-5, 6-7 (4), 3-6 defeat in the Fever-Tree Championships final, after failing to convert a match point against Marin Cilic.
